This weekend in Kansas City, Kyle Larson is a busy man. He’s bouncing between the NASCAR track and the dirt track in his sprint car. Lakeside Speedway is host to the High Limit Racing series and there is big money up for grabs.

The $50,000 grand prize for winning Saturday night’s feature is the largest sprint car purse of the season, so far. High Limit promised big purses for these drivers putting it all on the line and they have pulled through in that effort.

On Friday night, Brad Sweet won the prelim. It was a big statement as Sweet finished ahead of Tyler Courtney and Kyle Larson. Larson started the race P12 and marched to a P3 finish overall in the prelim race.

Larson wants to take that $50K check home instead of giving it out as the co-owner of High Limit.

Kyle Larson is one of the most versatile and talented racecar drivers in America, if not the world. From sprint cars to stock cars and soon, IndyCar – Larson has succeeded and excelled in everything he’s competed in.

The High Limit series is a passion project and something that he hopes will build the sport and reward drivers appropriately. Being in Kansas City the same weekend as NASCAR is big for this series and hopefully, the fans turn out at Lakeside. I’m sure they will.

Kyle Larson looking for big weekend in Kansas

If all goes well, Kyle Larson plans to leave Kansas this weekend with two wins in two different series. We know that he’s going to be good in the sprint car. He’s great on the dirt. His biggest competition will likely be Sweet, maybe one or two other drivers if they have a great race.

However, Larson is looking for redemption on the NASCAR side. Denny Hamlin took the win from him last season at Kansas with a last-lap pass. Hamlin got Larson loose and the 5 car hit the wall. Hamlin went by and Larson came in P2.

Larson only has one win this season. I say only because it feels like he should have more with how consistent and fast he has been. There have been missteps along the way, though. Those mistakes have kept him to just the one win from Las Vegas.

This is another busy weekend for Kyle Larson. He’s going to be going from one car to the other and then back and forth again. Something tells me he’s going to have a big weekend and will leave Kansas with at least a couple of top-5 finishes.
