Realistic Draft Targets for the Indianapolis Colts at Pick No. 15

The Indianapolis Colts currently own the 15th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Who are three realistic targets for the team at that spot?

Although it’s highly unlikely, the Colts could trade up to land Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Indianapolis would probably have to move up to the fourth pick to get him. However, it would take a significant haul to move up that far in the draft. In such a trade, the Colts would likely part with a bunch of picks, including No. 15 this year and a first-rounder in 2025.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard isn’t known for making monumental, large-than-life moves. With that said it would be shocking to see the team pull off a Harrison trade.

The Colts are expected to keep the 15th overall pick and take the best player available. Georgia tight end Brock Bowers might slip to 15, but that probably won’t happen.

Three Realistic Draft Targets for the Indianapolis Colts at Pick No. 15

Terrion Arnold

Cornerback is the Colts’ biggest need. Last season, the team ranked 22nd in yards per pass attempt, which certainly isn’t great.

Kenny Moore II was re-signed earlier this offseason. He’ll be the slot cornerback and the promising JuJu Brents, who missed eight games as a rookie, will start on the outside.

Indianapolis needs another corner and Terrion Arnold could be the answer. The Alabama star has great top-end speed, allowing him to run with receivers downfield. He can team with the likes of Moore, Brents, Jaylon Jones, and Dallis Flowers to give the Colts an improved cornerback room.

Quinyon Mitchell

If the Colts don’t take Arnold, they could draft Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell instead. He has good vision when in zone coverage and displays the speed needed to keep up with the league’s fastest receivers. Plus, he’s a great tackler.

In 13 games last season, Mitchell recorded 41 tackles, an interception, and 18 passes defended. He was ultimately invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, where he elevated his stock into the first round of the 2024 draft.

Toledo isn’t a big-time program like Alabama, Ohio State or Georgia. If Mitchell had played at a much bigger school, he probably wouldn’t be available at the 15th pick. Yet, he has the potential to be a shutdown corner and would pair nicely with JuJu Brents in the Colts’ secondary.

Brian Thomas Jr.

Re-signing wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has been the Colts’ biggest move this offseason. The USC product is coming off the best season of his career, catching 109 passes for 1,152 yards.

Pittman, along with Josh Downs and Alec Pierce make up a solid receiver trio. Yet, the team needs another impact player to join the group.

LSU wideout Brian Thomas Jr. might be that guy. No, he isn’t supposed to be as good as Harrison or college teammate Malik Nabers. But he could develop into an NFL star.

In 2023, Thomas led the country with 17 receiving touchdowns. He also produced 1,177 yards and 68 receptions. He would be another intriguing weapon for Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson next season.
