Bailey’s Daily: Flyers’ Bonk makes Team Canada, Crosby makes history
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

In this edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, highlights, and stories from Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • A source familiar with the situation tells New Jersey Hockey Now that New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald has re-engaged in talks with the Anaheim Ducks regarding goaltender John Gibson. The two sides had previously talked over the course of the summer, as well. [New Jersey Devils]
  • Sidney Crosby made NHL history in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 4-3 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens. Crosby’s three-point effort gives him 1,533 career points, tying him for 13th all-time with former teammate and Flyers legend Mark Recchi. [Pittsburgh Penguins]
  • The New York Islanders are suddenly one of the hottest teams in hockey. They’ve won four games in a row, and are 6-0-1 in their last seven. In addition, they have points in 13 of their last 14 games, and just picked up another two in a game against the Anaheim Ducks that had everything. [New York Islanders]
